The Air up There!!!!!

So today after the balloons Lori and I decided to take Emily and go hike timp We drove over and arrived about 8:15am .Lori took Emily to the bathroom and I went to buy the tickets. Mind you the last time I was at timp I was on a third grade field trip. So I went to buy the tickets. the ranger asks if I want the next available tour I say Yes. He starts to assist someone else and his co worker finished up helping me. they told me that it would 8:50am I assumed that was the time of our tour. So we go outside and realize we only have 30 minutes to the top. AHHHHH!!! Lori, Emily and I start trekking it up the mountain. Did I mention that the trail is 1 1/2 miles to the top at a 6% incline. UGH! So we basically run up the mountain with very few stops. (yes I was the lucky one carrying all the bottles of water that we had no time to drink on our way up!) We walk and walk encouraging each other the whole time. We finally make it to the top 45 minutes later, profusely sweating and exchange sighs of relief. We stop laugh and drink a little beverage. The tour guide then says that she has room for 4 more people in the tour. I let her know we would like to go on her tour because we were late and missed our tour by fifteen minutes she looks at our ticket and surprise, surprise our tour time was really 10:20AM. So we ran up the dang mountain for nothing. A hike that should have taken us an hour and a half to climb only took us half the time. So let this be a lesson to everyone. READ YOUR TICKET !!!!! In hind sight. Emily did amazing in keeping up with no complaints and Lori and I now feel a huge sense of accomplishment in doing such a long hard hike in half the time.
