Friday, June 19, 2009
Well today is Friday. The girls had fun helping grandpa with mowing the lawn and enjoyed every minute of it.
We also went to the strawberry days rodeo, we had a good time we enoyed our strawberries and cream ( and one for you Jackie) the girls and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I had to leave to take gillian home early. She was pretty tired and her eye was looking not so good. Poor Gillian ended up with pink eye. We travel and she gets pink eye lame we are all hoping we don't get it. We have enjoyed our time in spite of this eye issues.

Gillians moving up ceremony
I am sure anyone reading this is in shock that I am actually doing a blog!! Miracles do happen.
So I have promised Mark that I will be better at keeping a blog and keeping him up to date with all the things the girls and I are doing this summer. So what better day to start than Gillian's pre-school graduation. I can't believe that she is going to be in kindergarten next school year. I think I look forward to it and at the same time it will be interesting to have both children gone at school all day. I guess It would be a good time for me to start getting a life.
Anyway today was Gillian's "graduation" and the ceremony had started. The kids were being called up one by one and what happens when it's Gillian's turn? Well at the precise moment she was called up her name tag on her chair came of, she looks at me like her world had ended and she didn't know what to do. She is just staring at me the teacher and all the kids keep calling her name to go up to the front of the class. She just sits there paralyzed and big tears start to well up in her eyes. I keep reassuring her that it will be OK that her name tag came off her chair. my reassurances were obviously not good enough. the teacher had to come over with tape and put her name tag on her chair before she would go up in front of the class. then when she gets up there my camera freezes and I miss the picture well sort of. Anyway always an adventure when it concerns Gillian. Over all it was really fun to watch her moving on to the big time.

Halloween
My cute little sister flew in this weekend to spend Halloween with us. I also put her to work cutting hair but that is another story. What a cool aunt she dressed up as Snow White to go trick or treating with the girls.
Gillian as you can see was a ballerina and Emily was the skeleton bride, boy was she in character.
Gillian can't quite be serious in pictures I wonder where she got that from?????
This was Mark's first Halloween home in two years. It was so nice to have him home. I think he had a lot of fun also. He did Emily's makeup and carved pumpkins with the girls he even go creative with the projector. projecting The Nightmare before Christmas through the sliding glass door onto the outside wall while the trick or treaters came. We even had jack the pumpkin king as one of our pumpkins!

Fun in Mexico
They turned down our bed and put Hershey kisses on the bed spread.

The views from our room.

We checked in to our room that had a splendid view. We spent time at the beach. We spent a ton of time shopping. and eating and shopping. etc. etc. etc. On Sunday we went to Xel Ha (shell Ha) an Eco park they had swimming with dolphins snorkeling and much more. We spent half a day there then headed of to some Mayan ruins. Did I say it was so stinking hot. The ruins were awesome.

we had an amazing day. By the time we got back to the hotel we were exhausted. We had one more really warm day after this and then the weather got overcast due to the hurricane moving up the gulf of Mexico. We did however enjoy the rest of our time in Mexico.
The views from our room.
On September 5, 2008 we headed off to Mexico that's right just Mark and I. I guess you could call it our 12 year anniversary present to ourselves. We arrived at our hotel at about 9pm and it was so beautiful. My picture doesn't do it justice.

So I have not blogged in quite sometime as so many of my friends pointed out. So I am going to travel back in time and blog about things that have happened in the last several months. Mark came home from a four and a half month deployment at the end of August. A few days after he came home we had both of our parents come and stay, for Emily's baptism. The baptism was beautiful . After the baptism we hopped on a ferry and headed over to Seattle to take in the sights. We had a delicious lunch at The Cheesecake Factory, then headed down to pikes market to watch them throw fish and to buy gorgeous flowers.
